The skin pores keep the skin moist and protect it from drying out. The size of skin pores generally depends on the skin type, but is increased with ageing and sun exposure. Healthy and beautiful facial skin is associated with fine-pored skin, but coarse pores can be reduced with ice treatment.
Coarse-pored skin must be washed daily with a mild cleanser. This should be adapted to the skin type, as the skin can be naturally oily, dry or mixed. Rinse off the cleanser with lukewarm water and then rinse with cold water to avoid redness and inflammation.
Ice cubes can be used to temporarily reduce the size of pores, as the cold of the ice reduces the blood flow in the facial skin, decreases the production of oil by the skin cells and relieves inflammation.
For the ice treatment, wrap a few ice cubes in a soft cotton cloth and press gently on different parts of the face for half a minute to a minute.
The ice cubes should never be held directly on the face, as this can lead to frostbite or skin irritation. It is better to use smaller, crushed pieces of ice that are evenly distributed in the cloth and therefore on the skin.
After applying the ice cream, apply a gentle facial lotion to prevent the skin from becoming too dry and tight.
