Almost everyone goes through the phase in their youth when acne and pimples spread particularly easily on the face. The cause of the skin blemishes probably lies in the hormonal changes of the body during puberty. To keep the ugly pimples to a minimum, you should reduce these foods as much as possible, and of course cleanse and care for your skin regularly.
Acne-promoting foods
The number one cause of pimples is sugar. A diet rich in sugary foods can not only aggravate acne, but actually cause it. The spike in sugar levels after eating sweets increases the production of sebum, leading to clogged pores. The less sugar you eat, the better chance you have of reducing your acne.
Bad news for all those who like to eat cheese: Unfortunately, dairy products are among the foods that promote acne. Especially low-fat milk has led to increased acne attacks in studies. Keep your dairy consumption to a minimum and stay away from pizza!
Trans fatty acids promote inflammation and are thus food for pimples. Fish oils, on the other hand, seem to improve the skin's appearance and promote protection against UV rays. Omega-3 fatty acids, which are found in high doses in salmon, walnuts and flaxseed, are particularly recommended.
