Where is the best place for a birdcage

Birdcage
In most households, the bird cage remains indoors all year round and rarely gets the chance to be in natural sunlight. Even if the bird cage is placed directly by the window, the bird does not benefit from the vital vitamin D3 as the window pane filters out the sunlight. Vitamin D3 is important for the bird's health, especially during moulting. The ideal location for the bird cage makes a significant contribution to keeping the bird healthy and happy.

It is a good idea to change the location of the bird cage frequently to give the bird something new to look at and prevent boredom. You should start changing the location when the bird is still young, as older or shy birds can be frightened by sudden changes. If a bird does not react positively to the change of location, it is better to leave it in its usual place.
In mild weather, the cage should be taken outside if possible. Most birds are stimulated by the birdsong of free-living birds. The bird's body can also benefit from the sunlight. The cage should be placed outside so that one part is always in the shade so that the bird can retreat there.

Temperature and humidity should correspond as closely as possible to the natural living conditions of the respective bird species.

Even if the bird is part of the family, it should not necessarily be in too noisy an environment. Birds like normal human conversation, but not loud party music or extreme noise. A bird's cage should also not be placed in the kitchen, where odours and household chemicals can endanger its health. If the household smokes, the bird should be kept in as smoke-free an area as possible, as nicotine is extremely hazardous to birds' health.

In winter, the cage should be covered with the window open to protect the bird from draughts if it is near a window.

The bird should not be allowed to fly around freely in the home when nobody is around.
