A bitch that is not spayed runs the constant risk of becoming pregnant on her "hot" days. Hot bitches are difficult to restrain if a non-neutered male dog is around. If sterilising the bitch is out of the question, it is still largely possible to prevent her from becoming pregnant.

 

The most effective way to prevent a hot bitch from getting pregnant is by creating a barrier between her sexual organs and those of the male dog. In other words, you have to put something on her.

Pet shops sell dog trousers in all shapes and colours. As these are mostly intended to be decorative, you need to pay attention to the strength and impermeability of the material of the dog trousers.
For more practical than decorative purposes, you can simply buy inexpensive underwear for children. Attach a panty liner to the crotch. The underwear should be tight but not too tight and should leave the bitch's tail free.

Nappies with elasticated sides and the right size are also suitable. The sides of the nappies can also be taped to prevent them from coming undone on the way. The disadvantage of nappies, however, is that it is much more difficult to cut a hole for the tail without the nappy fraying.

The advantage of pants or nappies for the hot bitch is that she does not leave any wet stains in the home. Panty liners or nappies easily absorb any accidental discharge.
It may look funny when out walking, but it alerts male dog owners from a distance that a hot female dog is nearby.

However, it makes sense to remove the protection before the dog does her business.
