What belongs in the stable pharmacy

Horse husbandry

As a responsible horse owner, you should always have a well-stocked stable first-aid kit so that you can provide your horse with first aid in the event of illness or injury until the vet arrives.

Depending on the size of the stable and the accessibility of a vet, the stable pharmacy should be more or less extensive.

For a small stable of up to three horses, the emergency first-aid kit should contain the following:

30cm wide bandage cotton for horses, approx. 1 kg

three elasticated, 10 cm wide bandages

Sterile wound dressing (gauze)

Antibiotic spray

Mild disinfectant (Rivanol, Entozon)

Blue spray for superficial wounds

Wound scissors

Clinical thermometer

Vaccination table

Telephone number of the vet

Note: Always check the expiry date of all medicines and replace them in good time.
