The first aid kit for pets

Mistress and dog; medicine cabinet for pet owners

If you don't have a first-aid kit, a sudden accident or unexpected illness in your pet can worsen, become infected or even lead to death. It is important for pet owners to always have a first aid kit on hand to be prepared for accidents and illnesses.

A first aid kit for pets should contain the following:

Sterile gauze

Dressing compresses

Bandage rolls

Hydrogen peroxide as an emetic

Leukoplast

Resealable platinum bags

Tweezers

Scissors

Cotton buds

Antiseptic wet wipes

Antibacterial lotion

Medical alcohol for washing out wounds

Iodine (Betadine)

Saline solution for washing out the eyes

First aid manual

Clinical thermometer

Rubber gloves

Leather gloves to protect against bites

Wooden ruler for splinting fractures

Telephone number of the vet

A cosmetic bag with a zip fastener is suitable as a container for the first-aid kit. All utensils for treating open wounds, such as gauze, Leukoplast, antibacterial lotion, alcohol and antiseptic wipes should be packed together in a resealable plastic bag. Tools such as scissors, tweezers, thermometer, gloves, cotton buds and a wooden ruler should be placed in another bag.

The rest is put in a third bag. This makes it easier to find the required utensils. The vet's telephone number should be written on the inside of the bag in marker.

The cosmetic bag can be taken anywhere to be at hand in an emergency.
