Cones (moxa cones) or cigars formed from mugwort are placed on the acupuncture point and burnt. <\/p>\n<p>Ginger slices about two millimetres thick are usually placed between the skin and the moxa cone. <\/p>\n<p>Moxibustion is used when the body cannot be supplied with sufficient energy using acupuncture needles alone.
