A young person should therefore be prepared for their adult life so that the transition is successful. Before a teenager moves out of home, they should know what to expect. What should teenagers know before they move out of their parents' home?<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Probably the most important aspect of being responsible for your own household is managing your finances. From an early age, a teenager should gain an insight into their parents' budgets and households so that they learn how to organise their money and pay bills. Having their own bank account gives young people the opportunity to gain experience. The responsibility of handling money can be prepared gradually. For example, you can give your teenager their own money for clothes, which they will have to manage.<\/p>\n<p>A teenager should also know about debt so that they are not tempted to overburden themselves financially for a short-term goal.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the money, the behaviour of a young adult is also part of the new experience. Anyone who wants to move out should be mature enough to keep their promises and be honest, treat their fellow human beings with respect and fulfil their obligations. Parents should set a good example for the teenager.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px 0px 15px; font-size: 13px; font-family: Arial; color: #858586;\">\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Before a young adult moves out, they should of course be able to do the basic household chores. This includes cooking, ironing, cleaning and using household appliances. If the young person owns a car, they should know how to look after it.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For learning, parents can set goals for the young adult, both for short-term and long-term success. Start with short-term goals. Once the teenager has learnt to master these successfully, long-term goals are added, such as education, career and family planning.
