There is a special cat milk for kittens that is tailored to the needs of a young kitten. This cat rearing milk is also good for baby rabbits. A baby rabbit that has no fur and has closed its eyes only needs half a millilitre every three hours. Baby rabbits with fur but still closed eyes need 2ml every three hours. It is best to feed the milk with a pipette or syringe. It is important to feed the babies slowly so that no liquid gets into the lungs. Under no circumstances should you overfeed a baby rabbit, as this can be fatal.<\/p>\n
Good hay is vital for rabbits, as it not only provides them with a warm place to sleep, but also fibre for good digestion. Although lucerne and clover hay are very popular with rabbits, they are very high in protein. Hay made from meadow grass is better. Hay should always be plentiful and fresh.<\/p>\n

When the baby rabbit is old enough to eat solid food, it should be given rabbit pellets. Pellets are rich in vitamins and minerals that hay and vegetables do not contain. Rabbit babies should always have a full bowl of Pellest available so that they can eat when they are hungry. The older the rabbit gets, the less Pellest it needs. A rabbit weighing two and a half kilograms only needs about 20 grams of Pellest a day.<\/p>\n
Rabbits also need fresh fruit and vegetables occasionally, but only from the age of two months. Start by feeding small amounts of kohlrabi, carrots and lettuce. If the baby rabbit tolerates the vegetables well, you can offer it other varieties such as broccoli and parsley.
