It is located on the summit of a mountain in the middle of the Andes in the rainforest. This site is a special example of man's adaptability to his environment and how man is able to make the most of natural conditions. Here are the remains of architectural constructions that provide comprehensive information about the Inca culture. Ancient rock paintings (petroglyphs) can be found here, which probably date back to the Stone Age. The depictions show animals, cultural ceremonies and ancient symbols. They were among the most important trading ports in Africa between the 9th and 19th centuries. Porcelain, precious stones, precious metals and perfumes were traded from the Far East.
