Parents want their children to become self-confident people who know how to deal with life's challenges. In society's mind, the ideal family consists of a father, mother and children. However, same-sex parents can offer their children many things that \"normal\" families cannot.<\/p>\n

A series of Canadian studies on the subject of \"children of lesbian parents\" concluded that the children of same-sex parents generally not only coped just as well as their classmates, but also achieved outstanding results. On average, the children with two mothers were more self-confident and less aggressive than the children with a mother and father. They were open-minded, affectionate and less prone to depression and anxiety.<\/p>\n
There are currently only a few studies that examine children of lesbian mothers. There are even fewer for children of homosexual fathers, as only a small percentage of homosexual men adopt children. However, all previous studies in countries where the marriage of homosexual partners and the adoption of children are permitted show that these children are just as successful in life as everyone else, i.e. have no disadvantages in society.<\/p>\n
The rigid, conservative society accuses homosexual families of bringing up their children in an unstable household and confusing them with the genders because they do not have a clear image of a mother or father. But experience disproves these prejudices. What do lesbian parents have that heterosexual parents don't? Here are five examples of why lesbian parents raise happy and healthy children.<\/p>\n
1 It's no secret that a two-parent family has it easier because there are two incomes and the parents can support and balance each other out. Nevertheless, it is better to raise a child alone if the relationship with the partner has broken down and the household is strained and stressed.
Two female parents have a clear advantage when it comes to harmony in the home. Despite all the emancipation, housework is by no means divided equally between men and women. Most of the work involved in bringing up the children remains with the mothers. Two parents of the same sex tend to divide the work in the household and with the children equally between them. This results in a less stressful and more harmonious environment. If things don't work out so well in the relationship, lesbian parents put their children first and divide custody between them in the way that is best for the children.<\/p>\n
2. children in lesbian households are hardly ever beaten. Homosexual women tend to be less violent than men or heterosexual women. In two-sex families, it is usually the fathers who inflict corporal punishment.
Children who are not physically punished or even abused by their parents are less aggressive and have a more harmonious social behaviour with other children.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
3. due to the different nature of the family structure compared to other children, questions about where the children come from arise earlier. As information is usually more complicated in lesbian families, because there is, for example, a biological mother, a partner mother and a sperm donor, the biological processes must be explained at an early age and in understandable terms. This usually makes the children more open-minded, as they understand the connections better.
This openness also ensures that the children react more confidently to their classmates' questions and accept their differences.<\/p>\n
4 It goes without saying that mean things happen between children. The different nature of children with two lesbian mothers is a welcome point of attack for their classmates. In order for the children to learn to stand up to the vulgarities with self-confidence, it is better if the educators are informed about the family situation. It is not the children who have to change the future of society, but it is the responsibility of the professional educators to teach the children tolerance and respect. With the help of educators, the children of lesbian parents learn to stand up to the teasing of their classmates with self-confidence and become tolerant and respectful people themselves.<\/p>\n
5 It helps to counter criticism from conservative people when homosexual families have the support of friends and families. This also has the advantage that the children have an even larger family. One of the most common criticisms is that the children lack a father figure, but with the support of extended family and friends, there are more father figures than other children get.<\/p>\n
