In order to live together peacefully with a dog, it is necessary to train the dog. These are the most common mistakes in dog training that you should avoid:<\/p>\n

1. when walking without a lead, the dog is only called when it is to be put back on the lead. For the dog, the master's call means an immediate leash and the end of his pleasure. So why should he listen?
Instead, reward the dog every time he comes when called and give him the feeling that he has come voluntarily. Practise calling as often as possible, reward the dog when it comes and then let it go again. In this way, the dog learns to make a positive association with the master's call instead of punishment with the lead.<\/p>\n

2. only let the dog outside to wee and then shoo it back inside immediately afterwards. Emptying the bladder is of secondary importance to the dog. He mainly wants to sniff and roam. If he learns that he is only allowed outside to do his business, he will keep the pressure on until he can no longer do so that he can sniff for as long as possible.
The dog should be given the time it wants so that it can go for a walk in peace and enjoy itself.<\/p>\n

3. stick your nose in the urine if the dog has accidentally wet the flat. The dog misunderstands the punishment. He believes that the urine itself was the offence. Its logical consequence is therefore to pee where its master doesn't find it in future.
Instead, the dog must learn that the right place to do its business is important. If he is caught doing his business on the carpet, he should be taken outside immediately with a sharp \"No!\".
And the same applies here: reward for good behaviour.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

4. too relaxed behaviour during training. Until the dog is properly trained and has understood the lesson, it must be worked on consistently. You should not take a day off because you don't feel like it or don't have the time. This confuses the dog. It realises that it is allowed to jump up on one person on such days, but not on others.
On days with less time, keep the lessons short but don't stop working on them.<\/p>\n

5. to resist new training methods. Not only humans, but also dogs have evolved over the last few decades. Familiar training methods may no longer work the way they used to.
