When cleaning windows, there are often streaks on the glass or you can't get into the nooks and crannies of the window frames and blinds. Here are a few simple tips on how to get clean windows.<\/p>\n

To clean the windows, mix a solution of warm water, a quarter of a litre of clear vinegar, 100 ml of ammonia and two teaspoons of cornflour. In cold weather, add a quarter of a litre of rubbing alcohol or rubbing alcohol to the solution. The alcohol ensures faster drying in the cold air. Pour the solution into a spray bottle and spray directly onto the windscreen.<\/p>\n

Clean the window pane with a leather cloth, do the inside of the window first, then the outside. To dry-clean the inside of the windows, wipe evenly from top to bottom with newspaper or a kitchen towel and from left to right on the outside. This makes it easier to see against the sunlight whether there are any streaks or smears on the inside or outside of the window so that you can polish it up.<\/p>\n

Window sills can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol.<\/p>\n

Walls below windows can be protected from dripping water by holding a piece of straight cardboard against the wall while plastering to catch the dripping water.<\/p>\n

Wrap a piece of cloth around the end of a pencil. This allows you to get into the corners and angles of the window frames and remove dirt.<\/p>\n

Blinds can be cleaned wonderfully by wrapping cotton socks around your hands. If necessary, moisten the socks beforehand. Wipe larger dirt first with socks soaked in the washing solution, then polish with dry socks.<\/p>\n

A roller brush removes dust, dirt and fluff from fly screens.<\/p>\n

Wrap an old feather duster with a pair of nylon tights and use it to remove dead insects and cobwebs from the windows. Then throw away the nylon tights and simply use a new pair next time.<\/p>\n

Aluminium window frames become beautifully clean and shiny with silver polish.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Cola is ideal for removing grease stains from window panes and other glass surfaces. Pour a little cola directly onto a cloth and wipe over the stain. The acidity of the cola removes greasy substances without attacking the glass.<\/p>\n

Do not clean windows in direct sunlight in warm weather. The pane becomes warm from the sunlight and dries too quickly, leaving streaks on the glass.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
