Water straight from the tap is not only significantly cheaper, but also protects the environment, as no resources have to be used for packaging and transport.<\/p>\n

What's more, you don't have to carry it home from the shops.<\/p>\n

In Germany, you can drink tap water without hesitation in every city and in the countryside. Drinking water is carefully checked and tested in accordance with the Drinking Water Ordinance. In most cases, the water supply comes from the regional groundwater and is therefore already naturally filtered. If surface water has to be used when water is scarce, it is physically and chemically purified.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Since 1980, the term mineral water has no longer been a guarantee of its content. Many bottled waters are actually low in minerals, whereas depending on the region, groundwater from the tap is rich in minerals.<\/p>\n

However, so-called medicinal waters are different. Medicinal water is subject to the German Medicines Act and must therefore have a demonstrable healing effect.
