Why social networks are so popular<\/strong><\/p>\n Convenience. It's easy to keep in touch with friends, all at the same time.<\/p>\n Peer pressure. If the majority of a group are already members of a particular network, the rest feel excluded or morally compelled to participate. As groups have come to rely on communication through the internet, interesting or important information may be overlooked.<\/p>\n School. Many teachers are members of a social network and friend their students. This way, they can send messages about upcoming work directly and conveniently to everyone. If a student has a problem with homework, he can ask fellow students for help on his page.<\/p>\n Work. The job search can be made much easier. Open job offers or the search for work can be quickly spread among friends and acquaintances.<\/p>\n These are just some of the reasons and advantages that the internet offers us nowadays. Some people are nevertheless afraid to commit to a social network and publish information.<\/p>\n What should you consider for your own safety<\/strong><\/p>\n Two things are particularly important when dealing with social networks: Time and privacy. What information is published is entirely up to the user. The published data and photos should also only be made accessible to friends and acquaintances. You should regularly check whether your account is still classified as such, as the operators of the social network occasionally change their data protection regulations and data can thus be published unintentionally. Under no circumstances should the following information be made available to unknown persons:<\/p>\n Address Even when commenting on other posts, you should be careful about what information you reveal. Another thing is the time you want to invest. It can be fun to lose yourself in the vast information field of the social network to see what's going on. However, it can also lead to addiction-like behaviour, especially when you can check your status anywhere on the go on mobile devices.
