The most common complaints include heartburn, stretch marks, back pain, swollen feet, fatigue and varicose veins. Every pregnant woman is grateful for support, so here are a few tips on how to make the long months of pregnancy easier.

To combat chronic tiredness and fatigue, it helps to take a half-hour nap every day whenever possible. When lying down, put your legs higher than your head so that the blood flows to your heart and takes the pressure off your legs. Even if there is still a lot to do around the house, don't feel guilty, because having a baby in your belly is hard physical labour.
Unless your doctor says otherwise, you should get some exercise every day. Walking or swimming, for example, will give you more strength and stamina. Giving birth is also usually easier for women who regularly do light exercise.

You can treat swollen feet with alternating hot and cold foot baths. The hot water collects the blood in the feet, while the cold water pushes it out. This stimulates the blood circulation. For the foot baths, fill two bowls, one with cold water and the other with pleasantly hot water. Soak your feet in the hot water for about 3 minutes, then hold them in the cold water for 30 seconds. Alternate back and forth six times, stopping with the cold water. After the foot bath, you should rest for 10 minutes with your legs elevated.

During pregnancy, the growing stomach can push stomach acid into the oesophagus and cause unpleasant heartburn. There are mild remedies for heartburn that are also tolerated during pregnancy, but you should ask your doctor for advice.
Almonds have chemical components that help to keep stomach acid in the stomach by strengthening the membrane between the stomach and oesophagus. However, almonds are high in calories, so you should include them in your diet to avoid gaining too much weight.
You should avoid foods such as coffee, citrus fruits, fried and roasted foods, peppermint and alcohol if you suffer from heartburn.

For the sake of your back, avoid standing for long periods, especially in the last few months of pregnancy. If standing cannot be avoided, stand in such a way that your body weight is evenly distributed over both feet. When sitting in a chair, sit up straight and press the lower part of your back against the back of the chair. This will strengthen your back muscles.
If you are working at a desk, place your feet slightly elevated on a small stool.

Many pregnant women complain of numbness and tingling in the fingers caused by water retention, which presses on the nerves in the wrist. It helps to move your arms and wrists for about 5 minutes every hour.

The skin on the ever-growing belly is stretched considerably, which is why stretch marks cannot be avoided. It is best to avoid gaining a lot of weight so that the skin is less stretched. This will keep stretch marks to a minimum.

Varicose veins can form because the body produces more blood to supply the growing embryo with blood. To relieve varicose veins, wear support stockings. Cold compresses on the legs also stop varicose veins from forming. To do this, mix 6 drops each of lemon oil and bergamot oil with cold witch hazel water. Apply to the legs with a flannel for 15 minutes to reduce swelling.

If you are one of the women who suffer from constipation during pregnancy, you should eat more fibre and drink plenty of fluids. Beans, wholemeal products, linseed, green vegetables and broccoli are good to include in your diet.

Neben anfänglicher Schwangerschaftsübelkeit während der ersten drei Monate kann die Schwangerschaft mehr und mehr zur Last werden, je größer der Bauch wird.
