The circles are arranged in such a way that the pieces of cake appear to form a triangle.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The eye completes the missing pieces between the circles so that a triangle becomes visible. The optical illusion is that the perceived white triangle appears to be lighter than the white background, even though they are one and the same.<\/p>\n<p>It is interesting to note that blindsight patients see the triangle completely.
