Rummy is a discard game for 2 to 6 people. Two decks of 52 cards and two jokers are used.<\/p>\n

Each player receives 13 cards (three times 3 and once 4). The rest of the cards are placed in the pile in the centre. The top card is placed face up.<\/p>\n
A set consists of at least 3 cards of the same value of one or more colours.<\/p>\n
A sequence consists of consecutive values of the same colour.<\/p>\n
The joker can be used as any card to complete a sentence or a sequence. The other players may replace the joker with the appropriate card and use the joker elsewhere as soon as it is their turn and they can discard it.<\/p>\n

Card values: Jack, Queen, King = 10; Ace = 1 or 11, depending on whether the card is used at the beginning or end of a sequence; the other cards each count their numerical value.<\/p>\n

On their turn, each player picks up the face-up card or the top card from the pile and places a less useful card or the same card face up on the table. The players try to put together sets or sequences in their hand until one of the players says rummy because he has reached the agreed lowest number. If 9 is agreed as the lowest number, the game can end as soon as all the cards form sets or sequences and only one card with the value 9 remains.<\/p>\n
