Who doesn't get annoyed when your favourite jeans don't fit as well or look as cool as before after a normal wash and dry cycle? Extend the life of your jeans with a few simple washing tips.<\/p>\n

Before washing, empty the pockets and turn the jeans (trousers, jacket, skirt alike) inside out. This not only protects the colour and the fabric during washing, but also prevents lint from sticking to the jeans fabric due to small particles of tissue in the pockets.<\/p>\n

The jeans should be washed in the washing machine on cold cycle or gentle cycle, at 30 degrees at the most. It is best to use a gentle detergent specially formulated for delicate fabrics. Jeans are not a delicate fabric per se, but the bleach used in conventional detergents can wear down and fade the fabric.<\/p>\n

Only spin the jeans gently, do not use a full spin cycle.<\/p>\n

After washing, turn the jeans right side out and hang them at the waistline with two clothes pegs.<\/p>\n

It's best to hang the jeans in direct sunlight and let them air dry. Depending on the weather, it can take a full day or two to dry.<\/p>\n
