Everyone knows how important it is to get enough exercise. The challenge is to find the time to do it. Just walk shorter distances instead of driving, climb stairs instead of taking the lift and hide the TV remote so you have to get up to change the channel. With a pedometer, you can see how many extra kilometres you walk per day if you consciously want to stay active.

Coughing into the sleeve. Coughing or sneezing into your hand is outdated because you rub your eyes with your hand, pick up food and run it through your face, which gets germs into your mucous membranes. Instead, cough and sneeze into your shirt sleeve at elbow level. The sleeve is far less likely to come into contact with the hand and face or other people, reducing the spread of the disease. Bacteria also do not live as long on fabric as they do on warm and moist skin.

Wash your hands. Regular hand washing flushes bacteria down the sink and reduces the risk of infection. It has been scientifically proven that on average you get 25% fewer respiratory infections and 50% fewer stomach infections if you wash your hands thoroughly on a regular basis. There is a little trick you can use to show children in particular how quickly they spread bacteria if they don't wash their hands: put a little invisible gel that you can only see under UV light on a toy and let the child play with it. Later, use a lamp to look for traces of the gel, which is usually transferred via the hands to the face and neck and to other playmates.

Do not eat large portions. Do not fill the stomach too full, but rather eat several small meals. Otherwise, the digestive system will be overloaded and the body will work at full speed and have no energy to fight off germs.

Dental care. Regular tooth brushing prevents more than just tooth decay. It also prevents gum disease, which can cause heart disease or diabetes.

If you make a habit of following a few simple rules, you can keep catching colds and other communicable diseases to a minimum.

["2403"],"_fgj2wp_old_id":["1867
grundregeln zur vermeidung von krankheiten
2193
basic-rules-for-preventing-disease
1
12

post-2404","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-gesundheit","entry","has-media
["GET
