Children don't have to join a sports club to get more exercise. Instead, you can organise everyday life with the whole family in such a way that fun and exercise play the main role.

Scavenger hunt

Scavenger hunts keep participants fit and promote teamwork, mutual trust and problem solving. The scavenger hunt can be held in a nearby park and a map of the park can be made with various clues. The first team leads the way and marks the clues in the form of "scraps" or chalk arrows to show the chasing team the way to the "treasure".

Sports festivals

You can train as a family for the school's upcoming sports festivals. You find out what the relevant disciplines are and set achievable goals together, which are then rewarded with small prizes.

Sports activities at the birthday party

If the weather permits, you can hold the birthday party in a nearby park and organise races, roller skating competitions or similar. Alternative activities for bad weather include indoor ice skating, climbing on the climbing wall or an indoor play park. It doesn't necessarily have to be a birthday, you can simply organise a sports party for no reason at all.

Play copycat

Line up one behind the other in the garden. The leader runs, hops on one leg or makes movements that the followers have to imitate. There are no limits to the imagination, the child playing the leader can come up with their own movements.

Wash the car together

Scrubbing the car is good exercise in the fresh air, but the children simply enjoy making a mess with soap and water.

Gardening together

The child can dig holes to plant plants or seeds or pull weeds. Children who help to grow the garden vegetables prefer to eat them afterwards. Working in the vegetable garden at home gives the child exercise and a healthy diet.

Go hiking

Every few months, pack a rucksack full of provisions and go on a short hike. There are lots of animals and plants to discover along the way. The picnic provisions can be something special to keep you motivated.

Dance during commercial breaks

When the children are watching TV, it becomes routine to dance to the music during the ad breaks. If you stay on the couch, you have to do the washing up for a week.

A busy schedule is no excuse for children's lack of physical activity.
