Most people hang a picture too high. Ask a friend to hold the picture at different heights so that you can see it from a few metres away. The rule of thumb is to have the centre of the picture at eye level.<\/p>\n
To get the picture straight, use a spirit level. Hang it up on a nail or screw so that you can easily slide it back and forth until it is level.<\/p>\n
Insert screws or nails into the wall at a slight angle upwards so that the main weight of the picture rests on the wall, not on the screw.<\/p>\n
Smaller pictures are better displayed on a shelf or sideboard. Think about where the pictures will be viewed the most, whether in a sitting or standing position or while walking past.<\/p>\n
