\nThe symptoms of intoxication appear as overstimulation and nervousness or in the form of circulatory weakness, shallow breathing, impaired balance and lack of reaction to touch.<\/p>\n

As a first aid measure for overstimulation and nervousness, the horse is given a tranquilliser (e.g. Vetranquil). The tranquilliser is dissolved in water and given into the horse's mouth using a bottle. If the horse does not swallow the tranquilliser, it can be administered into the anus. In this case, the dose is increased by half.<\/p>\n

If the poisoning manifests itself as circulatory weakness, shallow breathing, loss of balance or even unconsciousness, the horse is given a circulatory stimulant. A litre of coffee is poured into the horse's mouth using a bottle. If the horse does not swallow the coffee, a stronger dose can be administered into the anus.<\/p>\n
