Florence, Panorama
The appearance of the city of Florence in Tuscany has changed little over the last few centuries. Florence is a city of exceptional art and culture. Without a doubt, Florence is one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in Italy, if not in Europe.
Numerous art museums, Renaissance architecture and great shopping are just three of the attractions that Florence has to offer. There is much more to see in Florence, but here are the main highlights for a short visit.

On San Lorenzo street market is a good place to spend an hour or two. You can find everything from leather goods and knotted items to jewellery, and much of it is quite affordable. Don't be afraid of haggling, it's all part of shopping at the market as long as you don't get rude.

The Dome Santa Maria dei Fiori of Florence is a must-see. The cathedral impresses with its dome and is also worth seeing from the inside. Climb up the cupola to see a marvellous panorama from the top. There are also colourful frescoes on the walls of the church, some of which are over 400 years old.

Of course, there are countless high-quality Italian restaurants in Florence. One of the best restaurants is La Giostria on the Borgo Pinti. The restaurant has a romantic ambience and enchants with its exquisite cuisine.

Of course there are many museums in Florence, but there are two that you should definitely visit: The Gallerie degli Uffizi and the Galleria dell'Accademia. The first of these is one of the most impressive galleries in existence with Bottocelli's Birth of Venus and several creations by Da Vinci and Michelangelo. The second gallery is particularly famous for Michelangelo's statue of David.
