LED screen

LED or LCD, which is better?

LED screen
Whether LED or LCD, which monitor is the better one is currently one of the big questions for anyone thinking of buying a new monitor. Overall, it is clear to say that LED is the winner when it comes to screens, due to the sum of many small advantages over LCD. It's a matter of time before LED replaces LCD, because once demand leads to increased production, LED will be cheaper to manufacture. Here are some of the reasons why LED is better than LCD:

10 reasons why LED is better than LCD

1) LEDs have a longer service life than the fluorescent tubes in LCD screens. Due to their longer life, LED screens also have better colour accuracy.

2. LED generates less heat.

3. LED consumes less power.

4. LED does not break as easily as LCD lights.

5. fluorescent tubes contain a small amount of mercury, which can be hazardous if not disposed of properly.

6 In most cases, LEDs produce a brighter light.

7 LEDs are lighter and therefore produce less CO2 during transport.

8 LED screens can often be made thinner than LCD screens and therefore look more aesthetically pleasing.

9 LED monitors usually have a richer black colour.

10. LED monitors produce better contrast and colour accuracy (when comparing similar quality products; i.e. an expensive LCD monitor is likely to be more colour accurate than a cheap LED monitor).

Note: In the case of screens, the term LED refers to backlit LCD. The older models described as LCD use fluorescent tubes.

LCD stands for "liquid crystal display".
LED stands for "light emitting diode" (light emitting diode)
