The image that looks like a circle is actually a star consisting of 1024 points.

 

The number of spikes is so large and the spikes are so close together that they are almost indistinguishable to the naked eye. The eye interprets the many small spikes as the outer edge of a circle. As the spikes do not form a continuous line but have gaps, the circle takes on a blurred appearance.
