Happiness and life satisfaction
Happiness and life satisfaction are a mental state, and each person has their own individual criteria. However, there are a few simple basics that help everyone to find their personal happiness. No one is happy 24/7, happiness has to be defined and found anew every day. With the following steps, you can improve your quality of life and become happier.

Acting instead of scolding
If you don't like a situation and it makes you unhappy, it doesn't help to just complain about it. Nothing will change on its own. There are people who always complain about everything but don't accept a solution and don't offer one themselves. It almost seems as if they derive their happiness from their own dissatisfaction.
If you want to change something, take responsibility and turn your criticism into action.
You are responsible for yourself
You have the choice to either control your feelings and your situation, or to make your happiness dependent on external circumstances. When you control yourself, you decide how you face each stroke of fate. Even if it doesn't always seem that way, you have the freedom to deal with the ups and downs of life in your own way.

Put yourself first
An important step towards happiness is realising that you can live your life the way you want to, not the way others want you to. Fulfilling the expectations of others means that you give them control over your life. Other people have to accept you as you are, otherwise they are not worthy of your friendship. Only when you feel comfortable with your own life choices can you be satisfied and find the key to happiness.
Keep control of your thoughts
Whether you realise it or not, every emotional situation is preceded by thoughts. Conversely, this means that you can control your feelings through your thoughts. When you are the master of your thoughts, you control whether you are happy or not. It is not a situation or another person that causes you to feel certain emotions, but you yourself, if you allow that person or situation to control your thoughts. You decide whether you get angry about something or simply ignore it.
Live in the present
Unfortunately, people in our society tend to either dwell on the past or worry about the future. The present, in which life actually takes place, is ignored. Learn to enjoy the moment without thinking about the past or the future. The past has already happened, you can't change it. The most you can do is reminisce about it happily. The future has not yet happened, but it arises from the now, or rather what you will make of the now. Your life is a succession of moments in the present, so learn to live in the moments of the present.
Accept problems as part of life
You cannot always influence external circumstances in your life. If a stroke of fate hits you, take time to grieve and regret, but then move on. Problems are part of life, if you accept them as part of life, you can learn not to let them drag you down into an emotional low. Instead, take the time you need to come to terms with fate and get on with your life. Part of being happy is dealing with negative experiences.
