Rejections in the form of rejection, rejection, rejection or rejection are unfortunately part of everyday life. Even the most successful and self-confident people have to learn to cope with rejection. Some people cope better with rejection than others, while many are put off by a negative experience and do not dare to try again for fear of experiencing another defeat.
Any situation in which you are looking for recognition, success or applause risks a rejection. Particularly sensitive people perceive even small, unintentional rejections as a rebuff, for example if an email is not answered for a few days or a friend doesn't have time for a chat on the phone. For their own protection, highly sensitive people should learn not to feel offended if no offence was intended.
Typical situations in which almost everyone is afraid of rejection, not just sensitive people, include applying for a job, approaching a loved one, handing in an exam or applying to join a special club. But everyone can learn to deal with the fear of rejection and with an actual rejection and not be discouraged.
Before a situation, you should realistically consider how likely a negative experience is and what your chances of success are. If you are one of hundreds of applicants, a rejection is likely and should not discourage you, as there are plenty of others who will also be rejected. However, weighing up the chances of success should not deter anyone from trying, because the path to success can only be found by constantly trying. The motto is: only those who dare win, and in most cases you have to dare several times before you win once, but it's worth it.
Whenever possible, you can increase your chances of success by having several irons in the fire. If one thing goes wrong, it doesn't seem quite so bad if the options are still open.
In most cases, a rejection has nothing to do with who you are or how good you are. Sometimes the chemistry between two people is just right and sometimes it's not. The important thing is to never give up. Even if the constant rejections gnaw at your self-confidence, you are not an inferior person, you just haven't found the right path yet.
