Satisfaction

The path to contentment with life

Satisfaction

Anyone can be happy and satisfied with their life if they want to be. You can consciously decide in favour of or against contentment, because it is less to do with the external circumstances in which we find ourselves and more to do with the attitude we develop towards our own life situation.

Of course, there are situations and events that promote satisfaction or dissatisfaction, but everyone has the choice to reflect on the negative aspects or enjoy the happy moments. Even the most negative life situation does not have to determine a person's feelings, reactions and attitude to life.

Modern society is a slave to external events and situations. Anyone who allows external things to stop them from loving their life loses their freedom. Everyone can make a conscious decision to be content and has the freedom to bring more contentment into their lives.

Contentment is a feeling of inner peace and satisfaction. Even pessimistic people know moments of contentment when their thoughts are temporarily not influenced by worries, fears and negative attitudes. Satisfaction is usually felt after achieving a goal that is important. Satisfaction is seemingly determined by the outcome of an external event, but in reality the feeling comes from within and is only triggered by external influences.
For many people, happiness and contentment are short-lived because they allow their pleasant feelings to be destroyed by negative thoughts or external things. Inner peace is best achieved through meditation; a peaceful mind is more willing to turn to the positive.

More satisfaction in everyday life

The attitude, the perspective with which you view your life, changes your attitude towards life. If you focus on the good and prevent your thoughts from poisoning your inner peace with difficulties and problems, you learn the ability to recognise a positive side to every situation. Don't concentrate on the problems, but on solving them.

Relaxing music and meditation help to promote a positive attitude towards life. A rather negative person should watch funny films instead of tragedies to learn to laugh out loud.
Many people find it helpful to record positive events in their lives in a diary and be inspired by them. As soon as your thoughts drift into the negative, you should direct them towards these positive things. It is important to recognise what you have achieved in life and not to focus on what you have not achieved.

Everyone, whether pessimistic or optimistic, should do something for themselves every day and treat themselves to something. Even small rewards help you to feel good. Doing something good for others is also conducive to a positive attitude towards life and satisfaction with your life. This can be as simple as a friendly smile or a nice compliment. Those who make others happy receive this in return.

You should expect satisfaction from every situation. Under no circumstances should you envy other people; on the contrary, you should be happy for them when they have achieved something.

Contentment is contagious. Those who surround themselves with positive people can learn from them and are not so easily plunged into negativity.

If things don't turn out the way you expected or hoped, you should do your best to stay calm in order to control your feelings. Inner distance is not indifference, it is the acceptance of good and bad and ensures inner balance. Inner distance from negative things promotes inner peace and contentment.
