You've just met someone and now you have to wait out the obligatory three days until he hopefully calls. Or maybe you had a fight with him and that's why you're waiting for him to call.
In any case, it is incredibly nerve-wracking to sit at home next to the phone and make your life hell. That's why time doesn't pass any faster, nor will you make him call telepathically.
What can you do to shorten the waiting time?
Keep yourself busy. Take your mind off him, because sitting around staring holes in the air only makes the wait harder. We all know that he won't call if you're sitting next to the phone. It's Murphy's Law. So stay away from the phone and block out the thoughts.
Start with any project. Since waiting seems to have extended your day by several hours anyway, take this as a blessing and use it wisely. Start with a task you've been meaning to do for a long time, like painting your room. Tidy your wardrobe, mend your clothes.
Go about your normal tasks and hobbies as usual. Keep meeting up with your friends or don't put off your dentist appointment. He will call when he calls, but probably not if you stay at home and wait.
Make a date for Saturday night if it comes up. If you keep Saturday night free in case he calls you and asks you out, you'll probably have a very lonely evening.
If other men want to meet up with you in the meantime, feel free to accept the invitation. After all, he hasn't even called yet, so you don't need to go down a single track because of him.
Remember: don't despair. A man can smell a woman's desperation and longing from miles away. Unfortunately, this will tend to repel him.
By now you will certainly appreciate many love songs in which the performer expresses the pain of his love and longing. Feel free to listen to a few such tearjerkers, but only in the car while you're rushing from one appointment to the next.
If you feel you've waited long enough and he still hasn't called you, call him yourself. (But after three days at the earliest). After all, you want to know what he thinks and whether you mean anything to him so that you can tick the matter off if necessary. There's nothing wrong with making the first move. You'll know straight away from his reaction whether he was worth the wait or not, because if he's happy about your call, you've done the right thing. If he seems disinterested, at least you won't have to waste your precious waiting time.
Don't even start to doubt yourself. There are thousands of reasons why someone might not call. Maybe they've actually lost your number or just got nervous. Either way, it's not your fault, maybe it just wasn't meant to be.
