When painting a room in your flat, one hand holds on to the ladder while the other wields the brush. But the third hand is always missing, holding the paint pot.

With a simple trick and a wire coat hanger you can solve this problem:

Use wire cutters to cut off the hook of the hanger plus about 3 cm of the wire. Use pliers to wrap the cut ends of the wire around the handle of the paint pot and tighten. The hook itself is hung on the top rung of the ladder. This way you can easily dip the brush into the pot and still have both hands free.
