A mouse in the house does happen. If you don't want a traditional mousetrap, you don't have to spend money on a humane mousetrap where the mouse is caught quickly and effectively and not killed.
All you need for the mousetrap is an empty toilet paper roll, a cracker and a tall bucket. the bucket should be at least 50cm high and smooth, it can also be a closed umbrella stand or a wastepaper bin.
Flatten the toilet paper tube slightly to create an oval-shaped tunnel.
Place a cracker, piece of cheese or bacon in one end of the tube.
Place the tube on a shelf or table so that the end with the cracker is halfway over the edge.
Place the bucket underneath.
The mouse will run into the tunnel to get the cracker. When it reaches the protruding end of the tube, it will lose its balance together with the mouse and fall into the bucket. Now the mouse is trapped in the bucket and can be disposed of as far away from the house as possible.
