Porcelain with small cracks does not have to be thrown away straight away, it can often be easily repaired with minimal effort and cost. Take the piece of porcelain and place it in a pan or pot that is large enough to completely cover the part with the crack. Then fill it up with milk. Bring the milk to the boil.

As soon as the milk starts to boil, turn the hob down and leave to simmer over a low heat for about 45 minutes.

The protein contained in the milk melts fine cracks until they are no longer visible or barely visible.
