Hardly anyone finds housework really nice, but unfortunately it cannot be avoided. Among the chores there are those that are less unpleasant and those that one looks upon with the deepest contempt.
What are your worst chores?
1. ironing
For many, ironing is one of the worst household chores, especially ironing shirts and blouses. Some even go so far as to buy only non-iron fabrics. For clothes where ironing is unavoidable, you can make it a bit more fun and turn on the TV.
2. floor mopping
The back in particular despises floor mopping. Many find it repulsive to mop up wet dirt and collect it in a bucket that you have to clean up afterwards. Maybe it will be less unpleasant if you vacuum beforehand or mop more often and less at once.
3. scrubbing the bathroom and toilet
The toilet and shower spout are undoubtedly the most disgusting things in the household to keep clean. Unfortunately, the only way to make bathroom scrubbing less unpleasant is to do it more often so that not so much repulsive dirt accumulates. If you don't like the numbing chemicals used to clean the bathroom, try a light vinegar and lemon juice solution.
4. window cleaning
There is often no end to window cleaning. No sooner have you cleaned one side of the pane than you discover that not only the other side is waiting, but also the window frame and the window sill with many complicated corners. And afterwards you discover that the panes have streaks and you have to start all over again. Windows that are difficult to reach are particularly terrible. If you can afford it, you should call the window cleaner from time to time.
5. rinsing
Pity those who don't have a dishwasher and have to wash the dishes by hand. After elaborate cooking, one usually has little motivation to wash the dishes, so they sit until the next day. Unfortunately, this only makes it worse, because the dried-on residue is harder and more unpleasant to remove. If you hate washing dishes, the only thing you can do is get a dishwasher.
