Yellow is envy, red is love and green is hope. We know this from the vernacular. But what do colours actually mean and what effect do they have on the psyche?
Every colour is a part of an electromagnetic field of the solar spectrum. Like radiations, each colour influences our mental state in a subtle but effective way.
Red is a colour that brings about vitality, speed and stimulation. Red is a stimulant and inhibits the apathetic and paralysing state of mind and activates performance. It also enhances momentary states of mind such as anger, aggression, good or bad mood. The colour red should be used with caution in colour therapy as it can overstimulate.
The colour Yellow is a mental stimulant that awakens the mind, memory, concentration and inner wisdom. Yellow frees from constraints and dependence, has a motivating effect, activates generosity and cheerfulness and optimises the ability to solve problems. Yellow as a therapy is not suitable for overly intellectual persons.
Green awakens self-confidence and self-healing. The colour green gives serenity and resolves contradictions. Green is a relaxant, it detoxifies and it regenerates difficult psycho-biological processes in the body. Green treats stress and sensitivity to pain.
Purple has an antidepressant effect and stimulates joy, creativity, success and fluidity. The colour purple awakens the spirit of invention, the ability to master one's fears, worries and mistakes. Purple brings out the individual talent.
Blue is the colour that radiates security. With blue, the brain associates a sense of protection and tolerance of negative circumstances. It suggests self-acceptance, solidity, clarity and sincerity. Blue strengthens intuition and a sense of justice.
In colour therapy, blue is used to treat insomnia, irritability and hyperactivity.
OrangeThe colour orange has a very dynamic frequency that resolves conflicts and brings emotional lightness into life. Orange awakens inspiration and communication and provokes change. Through orange one experiences a purifying serenity that promotes self-confidence, dignity, decisiveness and seriousness....
