How do you prevent warts?

Warts are caused by viruses that are usually transmitted in humid environments such as a public swimming pool. In general, warts are not dangerous and will go away on their own after some time, but this can take months or even years.

Prevention of warts

Avoid walking barefoot on damp and warm floors. You should always wear slippers in public places such as swimming pools, saunas or hotels.

Do not share flannels, towels and razors with other people.

Direct contact with warts should be avoided at all costs. If you have contact with someone who has warts, you should wash your hands regularly and avoid touching the warts.

To prevent the spread of a single wart on the skin, you should touch the wart as little as possible, as this can allow other areas of the skin to come into contact with the papilloma virus.

If you are affected yourself, you should cover the warts with special wart plasters to prevent infection. Wart plasters not only protect against the spread of the wart, they also gradually peel off the skin until the infected tissue is completely removed.
