The secretion of sweat is a protective measure of the body against overheating. In very hot weather, the body can produce up to three litres of sweat per hour. The sweat glands are located in the armpits, in the genital area (apocrine glands) and in the endocrine glands, which are distributed throughout the body.

- in anxiety and stress situations
- when adapting to very hot climates
- due to heavy physical labour or sport
- if you are overweight
- during the menopause
- due to a thyroid dysfunction
- for diabetes
- due to neurological diseases
- due to congenital hyperfunction in the armpits, hands and feet
Tips for body hygiene in the event of excessive perspiration
- Airy and breathable clothing
- Warm baths with herbs, salt, tomato juice (2 litres) or baking soda
- Eat little garlic, onions and peppers, as the flavour evaporates through the skin
- Relaxation exercises
- Creams with anomalies to mask the odour of perspiration
