Diarrhoea is rarely a disease in itself, but rather a symptom of an existing illness. Unfortunately, diarrhoea is often taken lightly. In most cases, diarrhoea occurs as part of an intestinal catarrh, so it is actually harmless, but serious illnesses can also be the cause of diarrhoea.
It is completely wrong to treat diarrhoea with constipating agents such as clay, charcoal, dried blueberries or dairy-free cocoa, as this only stops the acute diarrhoea, but paralyses intestinal activity, which can delay the illness.
