Pollen allergy sufferers should largely avoid drinking wine and beer, at least during the pollen count. It is not the alcohol itself that causes problems for allergy sufferers: Wine and beer contain histamines and sulphur substances that can intensify or even trigger typical allergy symptoms such as sneezing, coughing and rhinitis.
Two or more glasses a day doubles the risk of allergic symptoms. To be on the safe side, it's better to abstain if you suffer from allergies.
