To reduce the risk of a heart attack, you should eliminate the risk factors as much as possible. Here's what you can do to avoid a heart attack:

Symptoms of a heart attack include chest pain, shortness of breath and fear of death. People often suffer a "silent heart attack", i.e. they do not simply realise that they are having a heart attack. However, a silent heart attack is just as dangerous as a painful heart attack.

Nutrition

A healthy diet is one of the most important things. Eat a low-cholesterol and low-sugar diet, i.e. little fat, lots of fruit and vegetables and fish and poultry rather than pork and beef. Cholesterol puts a strain on the heart and therefore increases the risk of a heart attack.

Movement

Go for regular walks, cycling or swimming in the fresh air. This keeps the heart fit and burns off excess body fat. Daily physical exercise is best.

Reduce stress

Consciously relax, ideally through yoga exercises or breathing relaxation. This will lower your blood pressure. Too much stress is poison for the heart and a heart attack is inevitable.

No smoking

Don't just cut down on smoking, stop immediately. Even occasional smokers significantly increase the risk of a heart attack.
