One of the best bath additives is salt. In addition to salt baths, herbal additives are usually used for bathing.

Hay flowers

In a full bath, about 1 kg of hay waste is placed in a small bag and boiled in water for half an hour. The resulting decoction is added to the bath water. The hay flower bath is effective against semolina and stone diseases, arthritis, joint stiffness and tendonitis.

Spruce needle

Spruce needle extract has a calming effect on the nerves, but revitalises the circulation and metabolism. Spruce needle extract also has an expectorant effect on respiratory diseases. Spruce needle extract can be bought as a ready-made bath additive.

Horsetail

For a full bath, boil 750g of horsetail in water for half an hour and add the decoction to the bath water. Horsetail is effective against kidney and bladder diseases, leg ulcers and for better wound healing.

Oak bark

1kg of ground oak bark is boiled in 2 litres of water for 1/2 hour and the decoction is added to the bath water. Oak bark supports the treatment of varicose veins and frostbite.

Camomile

Boil a kilo of camomile plants in water and add the brew to the bath water. Camomile is effective for circulatory disorders, colds and deep wounds.

Bran

Ready-made bath additives made from wheat bran can be added to the bath water and are effective against highly inflammatory skin rashes and acne.

Rosemary

Rosemary can also be bought ready-made as a bath additive. Rosemary is recommended for the treatment of circulatory disorders and muscle strains.

Mustard

Mix 200g of freshly ground mustard flour into a paste and add to the bath water. A mustard bath causes severe skin irritation and therefore has a very stimulating effect on the heart, respiratory and nervous system. If you have heart problems, you should not take a mustard bath without first consulting a doctor. The body must be cleansed after the mustard bath.

Salt

2kg of salt or sea salt are dissolved in the bath water and are effective against metabolic disorders.
