The game is played with 52 cards. Two rows of 6 cards each are laid out face up from the shuffled cards. One card is placed face down next to it. The cards are then placed three more times on the other rows in the same way until all the cards have been dealt and there are 13 packs of 4 cards each.

Now number the 12 open packets from Ace to Queen. The card of the first packet is now placed under the packet according to its value: a 7 is placed under the pile of 7s. Kings are placed under the pile with the 4 face-down cards. The game is finished when all the cards have been assigned to their packs.
