Tips for the credit card holder

Credit cards

Credit cards can tempt us to spend more money than we actually have. To avoid losing track of your finances, follow a few simple rules when it comes to credit cards:

Don't become a credit card collector. You should not have more than one credit card. More credit cards at the same time give you more money for a short time, but afterwards you have to pay off all of them in parallel. Each credit card charges interest, so not only do you pay off the money you use, you also pay off multiple interest. It is better to have only one credit card and keep an eye on the balance. That way you always know how much credit you have left and how much you have to pay off each month.

Keep monthly repayments low by not going to the limit. It is better to keep some of the loan in reserve so that you can fall back on it for emergencies.

If you get into financial difficulties and cannot pay a monthly instalment, it is important to contact the credit bank before the amount is due. If you show initiative and willingness to pay, the bank will be more willing to accommodate you.

Keep track of your monthly spending on the credit card to prevent possible misuse. It's best to keep receipts for each credit card purchase and compare them with the account transactions. If you find a payment that you did not make or authorise, contact the bank immediately for clarification.

Make sure that your monthly credit card payments are always made on time so that the card is not blocked and puts you in an unpleasant situation.

Never write your credit card number in an email. An email is relatively easy for fraudsters to hack to get your credit card information.

If you lose your credit card, contact the bank immediately to have the card blocked. If you notice the loss too late and someone has already used your card, report this to the bank so that the corresponding amount can be refunded to you.

You should report the loss of your credit card to the police and keep the theft report.

You should not just throw your credit card statements in the rubbish, because they contain all the important data for a potential fraudster. If you want to throw away the statements, destroy them to be on the safe side.
