Once you have opened a bottle of wine, it is relatively sensitive and quickly loses its flavour. To keep the wine in the opened bottle fresh for as long as possible, here are a few suggestions.

The greatest enemy of wine is heat, as it causes the wine to oxidise. That's why it's best to keep an open bottle in the fridge and put the cork back in the bottle. This will keep the wine fresh for two to three days.

If you want to keep the wine for longer, it is best to get a special bottle stopper with a pump. These can be bought in wine shops and well-stocked household goods shops. Place the bottle cap on the bottle and pump the air out of the bottle. This seals the bottle airtight and prevents oxygen from entering the bottle.
