Cappuccino used to be the trendy drink, today it's latte. For many, one and the same, because both consist of coffee and milk foam. The difference is subtle, so it's really more of a trend issue.

Latte consists of espresso with frothed milk and a thin layer of milk foam on top. Different flavours are occasionally offered.
Cappuccino consists of espresso with half-frothy milk and less milk foam.

Cappuccino is usually served in cups, latte in a glass. The latte glasses are often larger, so you get a little more coffee for your money. The latte served in a glass has recently become popular because it looks more exotic than the traditional cappuccino.
