The shortcomings of the human brain. Is the computer more intelligent?

1. defective hard disc.

Witness statements are notoriously unreliable. Ask five different people about the same incident and you will get ten different versions. If someone is asked to describe a person they have just seen, important criteria are overlooked, details are twisted and made up. It's not a good idea to rely too much on your memory because it's full of flaws. Close your eyes and try to remember what you were wearing yesterday.

2. little working memory.

You can only process a certain amount of information in your brain at one time. There is so much that you don't understand because our brain is not able to store all the details necessary for understanding.

3. slow processor.

Let's just say you're not exactly the brightest person under the sun. Unfortunately, you also only have one processor, which means you can only concentrate fully on one thing at a time. The human brain is not capable of processing two thoughts at the same time. You can eat and read at the same time, but your brain only ever devotes 1001TP3 of its concentration to one activity.

4. endless loop.

Once a certain pattern of behaviour has been trained, it is difficult to reprogram. This results in bad habits, addiction and republicans.

5. no troubleshooting.

Once an error has entered the operating system, it is difficult to get rid of it. A bad decision that is not corrected quickly piles up a whole heap of mistakes. That's why people go into debt, gain weight, are unhappy in their jobs and regret it later. Obviously, we prefer being stupid to looking stupid.

6. limited stimulus inflow.

Our stimulus channels are limited to five, the five senses (sometimes six). All five channels have limited capacity. We cannot see through walls, we cannot touch an object in the distance and we cannot hear what is being said in the neighbouring house.

7. poor network connection.

Transferring data between two people is slow, tedious and error-prone. The transfer protocols are more than confusing. Microsoft probably has something to do with this.

8. high maintenance costs.

Who wants to use a machine that takes 8 hours to reboot, frequently loses data and is susceptible to viruses?

9. contaminated sites.

Systems are often unstable because they use outdated programmes. We usually forget to download the latest updates and our system relies on outdated information. This fuels intolerance and prejudice.

10. unreliable hardware.

It's only a matter of time before one component suffers an irreparable crash and the whole system goes on strike. You would think that we would be able to make backup copies by now, but at least it's mostly our own fault.

I believe we are overdue for a general overhaul of software and hardware.
