Nothing is more relaxing than foot care. Our feet carry us all day and yet are often neglected.
A thorough foot care is a relaxing and soothing experience for the feet and thus for our well-being. However, we often lack the time or money to go to a nail salon or to order the chiropodist to our home.
Pedicure (foot care) can also be done yourself. With few materials and a few tips on how to do it, you can treat yourself to the same well-being as from an expert for little money. And your feet will thank you for it.
Material required for the pedicure :
- Nail polish remover
- Cotton wools
- Nail scissors or nail clippers
- Nail file
- Nailbrush
- Manicure sticks or cotton buds
- Cuticle oil
- Foot file
- Water bowl
- Pumice stone
- Foot care lotion
- Underground
- Clear nail polish
- Coloured nail polish
Foot care tips:
- First of all, use the cotton wools and nail polish remover to thoroughly remove any remaining old nail polish.
- Now cut the nails with nail scissors or nail clippers, following the shape of the toe in a slight semi-circle and leaving no sharp corners, especially on the sides, as these can grow into the skin. Then smooth with a nail file.
- Now clean the toenails with the nail brush and then soak them in lukewarm water for ten to fifteen minutes. For extra relaxation, you can add bath salts to the water. Soaking in water is not only relaxing, but also softens the cuticles and calluses so that they can be removed more easily later.
- Next, scrub the foot thoroughly with the pumice stone to rub off calluses and calluses. Then rinse your feet in water.
- Drizzle a cotton bud or manicure stick with the cuticle oil and gently push the cuticle back to the edge of the toenail.
- Now apply a base coat to the toenails. This is particularly important with dark nail polish so that the toenails do not discolour.
- Now the nails are ready for the nail polish. Apply the nail polish in two coats, allowing the nails to dry for about five minutes after the first coat.
- When the nail polish is completely dry, you can apply a third coat of the same colour or a coat of clear polish instead so that the colour lasts longer and doesn't flake.
- When this layer of nail polish has also dried, apply the foot care lotion to the feet and massage in thoroughly between the toes. Then put your feet up and enjoy the pleasant feeling of freshness and relaxation!
Beautiful feet give you a new sense of self-confidence. Be bold with colour and use bright colours for your nail polish.
Foot care should be repeated approximately every four to six weeks.
