Instead of searching for the right fragrance for you in the department stores', you can simply create your own perfume.

It also makes a very personal and unique gift for friends and family.

This recipe for homemade perfume is easy to make. The fragrance is left to the creator of the perfume.

This recipe is for about 15 g of solid perfume.

Ingredients for homemade perfume

  • 1 teaspoon beeswax
  • 1 teaspoon almond oil
  • 8 - 15 drops of essential oil
  • 1 container to store the perfume (preferably glass, but plastic works too)
  • 1 straw
  • 1 small glass
  • 1 saucepan (casserole)

Instructions for homemade perfume

1 Mix the beeswax and almond oil in the small jar.
2. fill the saucepan with about 400 ml of water, place the jar with the wax-oil mixture in the water and bring the water to the boil. The boiling water bath will melt the beeswax and combine it with the almond oil.
3 Remove the saucepan from the hob once it has completely melted.
4 Mix the essential oil thoroughly with the straw. The straw is a good stirring tool because the beeswax will harden as it cools and stick to the straw. The straw can then simply be thrown away.
5 Pour the still liquid wax mixture into the storage container and leave to stand. The perfume will be solid after about 30 minutes.

How to use solid perfume

Simply run your fingertip along the surface and apply the perfume to your wrists, behind your ears or on your neck.

Tips for making your own perfume

The essential oils can be selected and mixed as desired.
The most expensive ingredient in homemade perfume is the essential oils. If you have a smaller budget, use only one fragrance.
Even if the essential oil is a little more expensive, it is enough for a lot of home-made perfume. You can collect different oils and combine them as you wish.
In the long run, you save a lot of money if you make your own perfume. It also gives gifts a personal and special touch.
You can also use the essential oils as aromatherapy, e.g. lavender oil for a peaceful sleep, citrus oils for stimulation and a good mood.
