Firstly, find out whether your skin is oily. Oily skin is characterised by clogged pores, a shiny greasy film and inflamed pimples. Oily skin often affects the chest and back as well as the face.

Oily skin is treated with regular skin exfoliation, which washes away old skin and excess sebum and prevents the pores from becoming clogged. You should exfoliate your skin three times a week.

After washing your face every day, cleanse the skin pores with a facial toner especially for oily skin. To do this, soak a cotton pad with facial toner and work the affected areas with circular movements.

A mild skin cleansing milk should be used daily. Apply the milk evenly to the skin and rinse well with lukewarm water. The warm water opens the skin pores and helps to cleanse the pores more deeply. Gently pat the skin dry with a soft, clean towel.
If you have pimply skin, it is important not to rub your face so as not to irritate the inflamed areas even more.

If you have oily skin that is prone to spots, you should avoid excessive sun exposure. Sunshine in moderation is good for the skin, but excessive exposure to UV light increases the skin's sebum production and aggravates acne. Use a non-comedogenic sun lotion as sun protection.

Last but not least, you should pay attention to your diet. Too much fat intake can increase the skin's fat production. Drink plenty of water and make sure your diet is high in fibre.

If your skin becomes a problem, see a dermatologist. Problem skin is characterised by extreme acne, countless blackheads with ingrown hairs and large pores from which sebum comes out when you squeeze them.
