2. Anker PowerCore 26800 mAh Powerbank

Für alle, die maximale Ausdauer brauchen: lange Flüge, Roadtrips, Back‑to‑Back‑Tage ohne Steckdose.

>>Produkt ansehen

Faltbare Reise-Waschmaschine

Bizarre Reise-Accessoires: Tragbare Waschmaschine

Selbstreinigende Trinkflasche

Bizarre Reise-Accessoires: Selbstreinigende Wasserflasche

If you're on a strict budget for your holiday, you'll find plenty of free activities and attractions in the popular tourist city and province of Malaga in southern Spain. Here you will find a list of tourist attractions that you can enjoy for free.

Free parks and nature

1. Parque de la Batería, Torremolinos

A beautifully landscaped green space with wide footpaths and cycle paths, a lake, numerous children's playgrounds, picturesque fountains and a viewing tower, suitable for the whole family. The park is located in the Avenida del Carmelo in Torremolinos. Parking spaces are available directly in front of the park, but they often fill up quickly.
Opening hours are daily from 9 am to 8 pm. However, dogs are not allowed in the park.

2. Jardín Botánico, Malaga

The 23-hectare botanical garden has existed since the mid-19th century and is located on the Camino del Jardín Botánico in Malaga. Here you can admire tropical and subtropical flora from five continents. The park is suitable for children, and dogs are also allowed on a leash. The botanical garden is free of charge on Sunday afternoons from 2 pm.
Opening hours are 9:30 to 10:30 from April to September, otherwise 9:30 to 16:30. The park is closed on Mondays and certain public holidays.

3. Parque de Poniente and Parque de la Fantasía, Fuengirola

The park consists of a green area with bicycle paths, roller skating track, petanca track and a pirate-themed children's playground and is located between the Castillo Sohail and the Paseo Maritimo on Calle Alberto Morgenstern in Fuengirola. The park is not fenced and is therefore open 24 hours a day and free of charge; there are private operators offering zip lines, bouncy castles and similar activities for separate prices.
Less than 200m from Poniente Park is the Parque de la Fantasía, also free of charge, which is particularly suitable for younger children with its imaginative figures.

4. Montes de Malaga, Natural Park

The Montes de Malaga Nature Park is located near the mountain range of the same name in Casabermeja - Colmenar, Malaga. The characteristic pine forests make the park particularly attractive for extensive hikes in summer. The following hiking routes are particularly recommended:

Sendero Torrijos: 1km, easy trail, especially suitable with children and elderly people.
Sendero EL Cerrado: 3km, medium difficulty trail
Sendero Pocopán: 3km, medium difficulty trail
Sendero Umbría de Contadoras: 1km, easy trail

5 Paseo de la Muralla, Mijas

The walk leads through a botanical garden and along the old city walls and the remains of the Arab castle of the village of Mijas. From the botanical garden you have a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside all the way to the sea.

Free museums in Malaga

Why is the Costa del Sol so popular with holidaymakers, but especially with expats? Alongside the Costa Blanca, the Costa del Sol in southern Spain is one of the most popular holiday destinations for northern European tourists and expats. What is it about the Costa del Sol that makes it so popular? Here are the main reasons why northern Europeans like to emigrate to southern Spain.

Why is the Costa del Sol so popular

Fantastic climate

The climate on the Costa del Sol is generally considered to be the best in Europe. The weather is mild and even all year round. On average, there are up to 320 days of sunshine per year with little recorded rainfall. The unique and dry microclimate and the warm winters are among the main reasons for northern Europeans to live there or at least spend a few weeks a year there.

Why is the Costa del Sol so popular with emigrants?

Good for your health

The World Health Organisation recommends the climate on the Costa del Sol as almost perfect for health. People suffering from asthma, rheumatism, arthritis or heart problems in particular experience significant health improvements. Spain also offers exceptional and rapid medical treatment and many new hospitals.

Better standard of living

Compared to many northern European countries, the region on the Costa del Sol and inland has a significantly lower cost of living, less crime, more leisure activities, an extended social life and fabulous weather. Even in winter you can spend long evenings enjoying the outdoors.

Cost of living

It has been proven that it is easier to own a house or flat in this beautiful area as it costs less. The estimated savings compared to Germany or England can be up to 40%. There are particular savings on heating costs and food costs as much of the fresh fruit and vegetables are grown locally.

Malaga on the Costa del Sol so popular

Capital investment

Spain is at the top of the list of European countries for long-term property investments. The property market, which plummeted drastically as a result of the global crisis, is already on the rise again on the Costa del Sol.

Spanish hospitality

The Spanish are a warm and generous people, known for their genuine hospitality. They are happy to share their relaxed way of life with their European friends. One of the main reasons for Spain's popularity as a holiday destination is that the nation is helpful and accommodating to its visitors.

High quality of life

The real reason why so many people choose the south is the more relaxed atmosphere. You simply feel better and happier all round when the weather is nice. The feel-good factor of the Costa del Sol cannot be measured. The improved quality of life and relaxed attitude to life is without question the main reason why many people want to buy a new home in Spain.

Cordoba is one of the three most visited cities in Andalusia, along with Seville and Granada. If you visit Cordoba for 1 or 2 days, you will discover one of the most beautiful ancient cities in Andalusia, as well as prestigious monuments such as the Mosque of Cordoba or the Alcázar. Córdoba is also the perfect destination for a day trip from Seville (it is only 40 minutes away by train).

The most beautiful sights in Cordoba

The Mosque of Córdoba

The Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba (sometimes called the Mezquita) is the city's landmark and certainly one of the most impressive A short guided tour of the beautiful Spanish city for the main sights in Cordoba.

Built in 785 by a Muslim emir on the ruins of a church, it was expanded and embellished over several centuries. Today it is considered one of the finest examples of Islamic art in Spain.

Jewish quarter of Córdoba (La Judería), the heart of the city

To enter the historic centre of Cordoba, walk past the Almodovar Gate, surrounded by high walls and battlements. It marks the entrance to La Judería, the old Jewish quarter of Cordoba.

Stroll through the typical Andalusian streets with whitewashed facades and balconies decorated with flowers. One of these streets is the Calleja de las Flores, Cordoba's most famous little alley, which leads to a beautiful view of the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba.

Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos

This is the other monument you must see when visiting Córdoba: the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos ("Alcázar of the Christian Kings"). It served as a residence for Catholic kings, but was also the seat of the Holy Office during the Inquisition. At that time it was converted into a prison.

You can climb one of the 4 towers of the Alcázar. From the city walls you get a unique panorama of the city.

Cordoba Synagogue

Located in the Jewish quarter, it is the only existing synagogue in Andalusia and the third best preserved in Spain. Although small, it is worth a visit especially for the beautiful stucco decorations of the main hall.

Until the expulsion of the Jews, the Cordoba Synagogue served as a temple. Later it was used as a hospital and school before being recognised as a national monument in the 19th century and is now one of the most visited sights in Cordoba.

The bridge gate

The Bridge Gate, as its name suggests, is located directly opposite the Roman Bridge of Cordoba. It was built in the 16th century on the site of ancient Roman and Moorish gates.

The Royal Stables of Cordoba

On a piece of land belonging to the Alcázar are the Royal Stables of Córdoba (in Spanish las caballerizas reales), founded in 1570 by King Felipe II, a horse lover. The famous breed of Andalusian horses was created here.

The Roman Bridge

Let's now go to the Roman Bridge, another of the best sights in Cordoba, great for beautiful shots of the old town, especially at sunset. The complex consisting of the bridge over the Guadalquivir River and the view of the Mosque-Cathedral is one of the most beautiful views of the city.

Built in the 1st century BC, it was the city's only bridge and the main access to Córdoba for almost 20 centuries.

Viana Palace

As the palace is about a ten-minute walk from the Plaza de la Corredera, you should not miss the Viana Palace ("Palacio de Viana") during your visit to Córdoba. The highlights of the visit are the 12 magnificent courtyards and gardens. Art lovers will also be delighted by the impressive collection of paintings, antique crockery and tapestries found in the palace's many outbuildings.

Plaza de la Corredera

This is Cordoba's most famous square: the Plaza de la Corredera (Corrodera Square). Its rectangular shape and arcades are reminiscent of the classic "Plaza Mayor" of Castile, but it is actually the only square with such features in Andalusia. For centuries, this has been a meeting place for parties, markets, bullfights and even ... executions!

Plaza de las Tendillas

Plaza de las Tendillas is a very pleasant square, ideal for a break when visiting the best sights in Cordoba. Its water jets and fountains make it even more pleasant in hot Andalusian weather. Enjoy a moment of relaxation in one of the many bars and restaurant terraces in the area. Don't miss the magnificent building facades in the square.

The city of Segovia is located in the province of the same name in the region of Castilla y Leon in Spain. Segovia has a lot to offer city tourists in terms of sightseeing. Come with us on a journey of discovery through Segovia:

Places of interest in Segovia

Aqueduct

Segovia's unique and fascinating aqueduct dates back to around the 1st century. The Roman structure was built to supply Segovia with drinking water from the Sierra and has become a symbol of the city.

The aqueduct consists of 167 arches made of granite stone and has hardly undergone any changes over the centuries.

Talavera de la Reina is located in the middle of Spain in the province of Toledo. The city of about 80,000 inhabitants can easily be explored in one day. If you want to plan a day trip to Talavera de la Reina, these suggestions can help you.

We will guide you through Talavera on a walk of around 3 kilometres, which will take you past the city's most important and beautiful monuments and offer you the opportunity to go shopping.

Our excursion starts on the banks of the Rio Tajo at the Reina Sofia bridge. If you are travelling by car, you can park for free along the Ronda Cañillo riverside road. The Puente Reina Sofía is a modern steel bridge, but it spans beautifully over the green and marshy Rio Tajo.

From there, you can reach the historic centre via Calle José Luis Gallo, which leads to the picturesque Plaza del Pan. Here, as everywhere in Talavera, you can see excellent ceramic work on the benches, walls and fountains.

On the right you will see Iglesia Santa Maria la Mayor.

Directly at the other end of the Plaza del Pan is the Teatro Victoria, a pretty stucco building in the typical Talavera yellow colour.

From there, take Calle (Callejón) del Teatro, which runs along both sides of the theatre, past Plaza San Pedro to Plaza del Reloj. From there, turn slightly right and then straight ahead into the pedestrianised area (Calle San Francisco). Here you will find many small boutiques and a large department stores' (Corte Inglés).

After Corte Inglés, turn right into Calle Eugenia, where the Santa Maria Parish (Parroquía Santa Maria la Mayor) is located.

At the end of the street, turn left into Calle Santa Lucia and follow the bend (Calle Sombrereria) until you reach Plaza Alameda. Keep sharp left there and follow Avenida Gregorio Ruiz. At the second junction, turn right along Paseo del Prado. Here you can cross the main road and enter the large city park Jardines del Prado.

If you walk straight ahead, you will reach the Basilica Nuestra Señora del Prado, which you can also admire from the inside if you are lucky.

From here, turn right and cross the road to the other side of the park (Parque de la Alameda). There are two pretty bridges decorated with ceramics over the Lago de la Alameda.

Leave the park in a westerly direction and follow the riverbank to the old city walls on Calle Carnicerias. Here you can turn right and walk around the ruins of the Alcazar Arabe. (Calle Carnicerias, turn left into Calle Pescaderias, take the next left and follow Calle San Augustin. Continue left back to the riverside road.

Directly opposite you will see the Puente Romano, an old Roman pedestrian bridge, from which you can get a nice view of the town of Talavera and the unspoilt river. On the opposite side of the street is the tourist office and the Museo Etnografico.

This is the last stop on the short city tour. All you have to do is follow the riverbank until you reach the Reina Sofia Bridge again. If you don't want to stop off at one of the countless small cafés but still need a refreshment, you will find a supermarket (Mercadona) on the right behind the Reina Sofia Bridge.
